Important Dates to Remember:

January 17th- No School MLK Day

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! We made it to 2022! I hope you all had a happy and healthy break and are getting back into your routine at home. Here’s what we’ll be working on in the month of January!

Topics for the Month of January

Reading: We are continuing our unit called Amazing Animals! We will be reading about fiction and non-fiction animals and all the amazing things they do. Soon we will move on to a unit all about families. We will read about what makes a family and different kinds of families.

Math: We will be working on problem solving with addition and subtraction strategies this month. We will review different ways to add and subtract within 100. Then we will start learning about time and money!

Writing: We will be wrapping up our informational writing unit. We have almost finished up our biography pamphlets. We will be moving on to discuss opinion writing.

Science: We have just started a unit on slow changes to land. We have been comparing quick and slow changes. We will be discussing landforms and how they come to be.

Social Studies: We will learn about Martin Luther King Jr. and all the important things he did to help create peace and equality.

As always, feel free to email me with any questions and thanks for all you do for your littles!
