Happy March everyone! I don’t know about you but I am looking forward to warmer days and springtime! March is a busy month in the classroom for continued learning. Take a look at what we’ll be working on in class!
Topics for the Month of March
Reading: We will be continuing our unit on families. We will continue working on our phonics skills, comprehension, and spelling as always! Believe it or not we are on track to start our last reading unit of the year by the end of this month. This final unit is all about talents.
Math: We are continuing to work on addition with 3 digit numbers and will move on to subtraction within 1,000 next. After that, we will be learning about measurement. This is one of my favorites to teach with all kinds of hands on measuring and ruler use.
Writing: We will be wrapping up our unit on opinion writing this month. Then science and writing will come together as we work on informational writing along with our animal projects in science.
Science: We are partnering with 8th grade buddies this month and next. We will meet weekly to research and learn about an animal of choice. Together the students will create a brief report and model to represent their learning. We are very excited to be working with Mrs. Johnson’s students on this engaging project based learning activity.
As always, feel free to email me with any questions and thanks for all you do for your littles!
